Do you have a long haired dog or a smooth skinned one?
There is the big debate, a bear lover is unlikely to want a shaved slave, and it could be argued that some hair on a dog is good. I am not a lover of a hair free body, but shaving a slaves pubic area both heightens sensuality let along it is a mark of his status.

As with all of the dogs grooming, shaving is an important part of you the Master and Owner reaffirming your power, control and dominance over your dog slave.

With a conventional slave - you can instruct him that one of his duties is to maintain his shaved state; and merely inspect his cock and ball area, when he has come out of the bathroom. The slave does this in the bath as part of his normal grooming.
For a dog slave - he is groomed by his Owner. At one level it is the Master saying that he stills cares for his dog, his property, at the other level it lets him know who is the Top Dog.
A slave should be shaved and should keep himself shaved, for a dog it is all part of his Master responsibilities for grooming him.
As a gross generalization a slave should be bound when this takes place, just like with any sacrifice.

A shaved slave will always be aware of his status, this is just another method in holding the framework together.

Head Shaving

This is also quite a submissive thing, marking a guy out differently. There is the unique feeling it has, for many it is also the 'hard man' image that differs from the slave prisoner image that they go for. Typically Skinheads will shave their heads and like their crop cut develop. Those skinheads that keep their heads shaved often self identify as 'bone heads'.
Shaving the head is also seen as yet another level of sacrifice that slave makes. The hair soon grows back and if the slave has dark hair it leaves that really attractive 11 o'Clock shadow.
Recently at the Hamburg Leather party, I notices that a high numbers of slaves with this look, almost all of them with the archetypal Septum nose ring, lean (skinheads body) and 2 days of hair growth on their shaved heads - a couple of them will be etched into my memory for quite some time.

General Shaving tips

Before
If possible, shave after or during a hot shower. Applying a hot damp towel to the face before shaving will also do the trick. The heat will help soften the beard and stimulate the oil glands leading to a softer, smoother shave.

Using a pre-shave oil to help prepare the beard will protect the skin against razor burns.

Glycerine-based shaving creams or shaving soaps are the best when it comes to getting a good lather. And a good lather is definitely the key to things here.

During
It’s worth spending that little bit extra on a good quality blade and changing it regularly to prevent a blunt and painful shave.

Always shave with the grain first. The contrary can cause ingrown hairs and razor burns. For a closer shave, re-lather and shave lightly across or against the grain.

Never rush your shave and do take care when it comes to the tricky bits around the sides of your mouth and nose.

Glide the razor gently over your face. Avoid applying pressure with your razor. This can cause skin irritations.

Rinse your face with cold water. This will help to close those pores and will wake you up a bit

After
Remember that you’ve just removed a layer of skin and you’re going to need to re-moisturise your poor face. Always ensure that your moisturiser is alcohol free to avoid stinging and beware of some those fancy aftershave creams as they can irritate the skin.

Try and give your face at least ten minutes to recover from the shave before you splash on the aftershave. Otherwise you’ll get blotchy red marks.
