Sleeping ^

So why do I need a cage for my boy?

Well you need to keep somewhere safe and secure to keep your animal when his Master is not there. Often the dog boy will feel secure, content and 'at-one' in his steel kennel, he will know it is the right place for him. It can also be a refuge, a safe haven for reflection.

Choosing the the correct dimensions for your cage will allow your pet to have adequate comfort over night - If there is too much discomfort his howling will keep you awake.

If you are tempted to keep him muzzled/hood all night be sure that you are there should he need you.  It is massively horny to be kept like that, but he needs to be safe. When I have a slave like this I always shallow sleep keeping an ear open for his well being.

If you plan it right you pup will drift deeper into slave space, and be more responsive to you. However beware also that butt plugs and bondage increase in discomfort over time.

Other Considerations ^

Comfort

Since your slave is going to be in there for quite a few hours (8 or 12hours) he needs to be at a good temperature. That is not too hot not too cold, as he cannot get out and adjust the air-con.  Until he is used to the cage, he may not sleep much anyhow.  The cage usually has a steel sheet floor, on which you can place his dog bed.  If the dog is to be in there for a long time it is worth while a his dog blanket should be there or a black naugahyde padding should keep the pet slave comfortable on his hands and knees for long periods.   Common choices   include:

  • Latex Rubber covered foam - This typically is about 4inches (~100mm). The foam would be quite firm creating a raised floor that blocks the chill of the steel, and is easy to clean. Having a foam bed like this would block up the dog-dish slot at the bottom of the cage door. The normal height of the cage is to accommodate a kneeling slave, if you did not consider the 100mm of foam, they slave is now got a bent neck. If you had any intentions of him jerking off in there - this is now compromised.
  • Duvet bedding - This this offers a lot of warmth, it can also be used to make a pillow, and used a padding against the bars of the cage.

Cages can vary in construction, e.g. 2ft wide 3.5 ft long and 2.5ft high for a single dog to ones for a pair of dogs. The dog will want to stretch his legs during the night so he has to be able to get his feet through the bars, so the bar with has to take into account naked feet or booted feet. It is quite easy to get cramp in the cage so the ability to alter position is important.

Boredom - Ok he has been in there since last night, when you said "see you in 8 hours pup", to you that meant that when you get around to hitting the sack you want 8 hours sleep, this thinks you meant that you will be walking through the door in 8 hours time!
In the mean time he is stuck in there going crazy, little light, noting to do.  It is quite likely that he has already found things to amuse himself such as doing sit-up (the mid bar rail is good for that, and the latex foam protects the spine), he would also have done pull-up using the top bars. He is hunt to end the boredom with be quite inventive.
Typical bored dog behaviour includes strumming the bars with his paws, this then moves onto hanging his head against the cage bars, with mindless repetition, ultimately it becomes self-destructive. You may have noticed this with real dogs if left at home all day when the Owner is out at work - you flat gets damaged, and he chews his paws - this also becomes a comfort habit.
In his head he has already shouted to you, but it takes another leap to call his Master out loud to let him out.
Therefore the slaves needs to know the scope and duration of his captivity -unless this is part of a mind-fuck torture scene (see brain washing).

Toilet - Ensure that he has has ready for bed, that he has been to the toilet - as this can be a problem if you have left him in Chastity Shorts all night, unless its ok to piss soak them. It is a good move to have a plastic container that can take a few litres of piss, or put a bucket in the cage if there is room. Hang this out the way, as you don't want it knocked out in his sleep.

Food and water - So ok it was 16hrs in the cage,  it was a hot night and he sweated loads, to the bedding is damp with dog smell and he is really dehydrated now. He need to be able to get at the water through the bars (with out spilling it), likewise also a bit of food - did you forget that he was diabetic, so now he is in a comma, what ya donna do ?

Health and safety - If the slave needs any kind of medication, ensure that this is accessible.
You might want to consider getting a 'baby' intercom so that you can monitor his in the play room whist you sleep. Usually Master have learnt to sleep with one ear open so they can come running is that slave calls out for them. Remember that the salve is dependant on you, he is in effect in bondage and captive. You need to know exactly where the keys are and  get him safe quick. Having him sleeping gagged and in bondage maybe be fine - but the cost of that is that you have to sleep in the same room and be there when he needs you. If you are a heavy sleeper - just don't do this.
You really need to know him so that you have got all the possibilities covered.
