To be honest then i have only tasted 2 types of the dry variety. Sir, i don't know how many others have thought about this but i know that when i first was told by my Mistress ( Mistress Alexis ) to buy some then, such an idea repulsed me.
However, i must admit though that it was a great feeling when i went into the pet store and even just looking at the different types sent a wave of adrenaline over me...

Biscut.

The first type that I picked up was Eukanuba, the type for dogs that have a medium build and want a medium amount of exercise. I am not a great athlete or anything so I thought that this would be appropriate.

On returning home I wondered what Mistress' reaction would be, after all I thought that Eukanuba was just a supplement and not a complete dog food in itself ( yes, I know it is now ) but I ran into a supermarket and picked up some Chum dry dog food. There were 3 different flavours if I remember rightly, chicken and rice, lamb and something and beef turkey flavour. I opted for the chicken and rice flavour as I was not sure what the other two would do to my stomach.

As I opened the bag of Pedigree Chum, the smell of the food was slightly less than pleasant, on tasting a chunk then it was rather bland to be honest. I expected it to be a lot stronger than it was. After a few seconds however the aftertaste hit me, it certainly was powerful and I felt kind of sick. I told Mistress that I had brought them when I spoke to her on IRC that night. She told me to pour out one cup full into my food bowl and also to fill up my water dish. When she told me to eat from he bowl, I dived straight in, eating as much as I could as fast as I could and swallowing fast without letting the taste hit me too hard, and also drinking a lot of water to ease it down.

On the packaging it says that you can add water to make a gravy - supposed to enhance the flavour. When I did this however, all it did was make a sloppy mess that smelt awful, needless to say after a couple of mouthfuls I gave up on that idea and now just eat it dry. The taste of the dog food has taken some getting used to but it is something that your taste buds will adapt to given time. I tried the Eukanuba shortly afterwards, this one did not have its own flavour so I wondered what it would be like. For some reason it tastes just like the pedigree chum, just in slightly larger chunks. Mind you, the Pedigree Chum does not remind me of eating chicken and rice when i eat it so maybe they still have some work to do on the flavouring side. I am well adapted to eating it now and like having either the Pedigree variety or Eukanuba, well worth trying if you want the "total pup" experience, just be warned, make sure you have healthy teeth and gums, the chunks can be slightly hard to break.

On another note, I have tried the dog biscuits as well, they tend to be rather bland and not taste of much as a whole although I did find that trying to eat the charcoal ones were disgusting and definitely to be given a miss, they were horrible...
