In order to receive your re-activation email, you must ensure
that emails from postoffice@thedoghouse.org are not blocked.
Remember, if you do not re-activate your account then you will not
be able to log-on to the site.
Emails can be blocked by your ISP, such as AOL, or by software you
have installed on your own computer. If you do not receive your
re-activation email within an hour of setting up your new member
account, then it is possible that the email from us has been
blocked. Please check that emails from us are not blocked right
now.
Some AOL users report that they do not receive re-activation
emails, but other AOL users do receive them. AOL users in
particular should check the settings in their "AOL Email Controls"
right away to ensure that emails from postoffice@thedoghouse.org
are not blocked.
You may also wish to use an alternative email address if you think
you have email blocking turned on (for example, a Hotmail
address).
If you are using a webmail client like Hotmail, you may receive a
"Your email message has been idle and this link has become
inactive" message when clicking on the link within your Hotmail
message. This is an error within Hotmail and not our site. In this
instance we recommend copying and pasting the entire link into a
new browser window.

- Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart.
Basically this is a screening
process to see if your details are
being read by a human or a robot.
With the exponential growth of services and businesses over the Internet, online security has become a real concern for software developers, architects, managers, and vendors. Software programs are written to impersonate human beings, mimic their surfing patters, and imitate online activities. These "pretending to be human" programs are referred to as robots or virtual agents. Imagine a software program performing a brute force attack (exhaustive search) on your e-mail address, an attack which requires trying all possible permutations and combinations of password values until the right one is found.
Digital assets are at risk from spam bots on various fronts -- Web polls, Web registrations, automated services, and search engine submission to name a few.
