A common design is for there to be a floor slot in the front on the cage for his dog bowl to be pushed through. This is all fine until you discover that the padding to the floor of the cage blocks this slot. So give some consideration to this point.
Possible Solutions:
- Taller slot that is as high as the foam base and the dish.
- Plywood base to cover the bars with high density foam on the wood.
- Flat steel floor, with thin cover. Can remove the padding for punishment or dirty scenes but put it back for sleeping.
Could consider neoprene rubber (wet suits) for the floor, this is warm, easy to clean and pervy.
